iris New York's paid summer internship program. In it's second year, The Zoo is designed to nurture young talent through an innovative program that will help entry-level creatives, strategists and account service people break through into the advertising industry. You'll join a family of like-minded individuals working in a true agency environment, participating on client briefs. 

WHO SHOULD APPLY?

REAL-WORLD LEARNING

The iris Intern Zoo is a unique opportunity that features 2 different learning tracks, developmental assessments from industry experts, social events, and a summer-long team project that could land you a job come September. The internship is split into two areas: a project with a live client and trade specific training by department.

THE PROJECT

What separates our internship from others: the iris Feeding Frenzy. This part of your internship where you will band together as a team, and receive a brief to run from soup-to-nuts. From strategy, to creative and design; the Feeding Frenzy will have teams work with their mentors to respond to a real life marketing problem with a local client. The project will culminate into a final pitch to a board, which will include the client, iris executives, and a few zoo keepers. By the summer's end, we expect the herd to be ready for life outside the Zoo.

POSITIONS

Art Director

The Zoo is calling all creatives! We're on the hunt for young, passionate individuals with big visions and even bigger appetites. As part of the creative team, you'll work with a copywriter (don't worry, we'll wrangle one for you), and together, you'll work alongside a designer, account, and strategy to conceptualize and create real work for real clients-really!

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a broad range of creative assets for clients and brands-it could be anything from a logo, an email, a social post, or even an idea for a TV spot.
  • Apply brand identity systems, typography, photography, and color appropriately to create innovative visual solutions that meet business and user needs.
  • Participate in client and team brainstorms.
  • Assist in Deck/Presentation/Moodboard development (design, formatting, finding images & clips).

As part of the creative team, you'll work with an art director (don't worry, we'll wrangle one for you), and together, you'll work alongside a designer, account, and strategy to conceptualize and create real work for real clients-really!

Account/Strategy

We're on the hunt for young, passionate individuals with big visions and even bigger appetites. As the title suggests, you'll be part of the account/strategy team, working closely with the strategy, account, and creative teams to ensure our clients' needs and goals are met on every project. In this internship, you will strategize and manage real work for real clients-really!

  • Manage the creative processes, from concepting (brief, strategy, deliverables) to execution (final creative, results).
  • Get the creative team's juices flowing with inspirational, strategic briefs.
  • Get us juice and coffee. Just kidding!
  • Work with clients to confirm project timings and objectives.
  • Help lead a cross-functional team that successfully executes a final project.

The Zoo is calling all UX / UI hybrids! We're on the hunt for young, passionate individuals with an obsession for great experiences. You'll work alongside the creative team and the rest of the account and strategy team(s) to conceptualize and create real work for real clients.
